All LokSound decoders combine a high quality digital decoder and a digital sound module on one circuit board. You can operate your locomotives digitally and at the same time replay the original sound as well as special sound effects such as horn or whistle. The sound is adjusted to the particular running mode at any point in time: when the loco starts moving, you hear the appropriate sounds (diesel engine revving up, steam chuffs with increasing frequency) and when it stops, you hear the engine slow down and also braking sounds.  (More Information)

ECoS         Command Station

Run  16,384 Locos !
The ECoS Central Unit can manage up to 16384 Locos. Each Loco’s characteristics are memorized, so in the future you can call each engine by name. Also you can assign a loco-symbol, and these symbols keep you abreast of the function of each loco, regardless of whether it’s latching, or non-latching. An extensive navigational menu takes care of finding your Locos quickly; and running them.
Operate turnouts and magnetic accessories
Just like with locos, you can name turnouts and magnetic accessories. The large switching-panel on the screen of your ECoS shows you all turnouts and their switch-position.
Routes
Several magnetic articles can easily be grouped as routes. Routes can then be switched like singular turnouts or they can be tied to an occupancy detector: Thus extensive block-control management is possible already. ECoS can manage up to 1024 routes with up to 256 magnetic accessories each.
Shuttle train control
Shuttle train control is a whole new function. Here you only need a (s88) occupancy detector at each end of the track, which you assign via Software to a loco: length of layover, acceleration - and deceleration, or in between stops can easily be programmed on the ECoS screen. This works with any decoder because the brain of the system sits in the central unit. Up to eight shuttle trains are possible. Symbolic display only: Actual screen contents may vary.

Thanks to the screen, programming decoders has never before been more simple. All parameters are shown in plain text.
Keep using old systems
We make your transfer to ECoS as comfortable as possible: Simply keep using your "old" system. The rail output of your present Digital command station is simply connected to the input of the EcoSniffer module.

LokSound Programmer

With the aid of the LokSound Programmer you can simply modify the sound of your locomotive or optimize the synchronization of the sound with the drivers. Never was it easier to adapt a digital decoder to your model! The only requirement is a PC with an audio card and Windows® operating system. You do not need any prior knowledge or experience in programming.

LokSound Micro

Sound, lights and motor control for N and TT locomotives!  Sounds are available for steam-, diesel-hydraulic-, diesel-electric- and electric locomotives.  Besides an outstanding Back EMF and super silent running due to 32kHz pulse frequency, the LokSound micro offers two outputs for light functions and two additional function outputs, suitable for smoke generators or lights.  Sound data on the flash memory chip can be modified by using the LokSound Programmer.

LokSound mfx

LokSound mfx group has decoders for 2-,3-, and 4-cylinder steam engines, as well as for various diesel engines (diesel hydraulic or diesel electric) and electro locos for the Marklin user. The latter with separate traction motor-and blower control. To polish it off, there is load dependent sound adjustment: The motor rpm decreases when the programmed speed is reached, and the volume increases under load or when accelerating. ESU offers LokSound mfx in many different variations for the prototype sound you desire. All parameters are factory pre-adjusted, so that your mfx-center’s display not only shows the pertinent loco class, but also the correct symbols for the function keys.  (More Information)

NMRA / DCC or conventional DC, the decoder will automatically detect the operation mode. In DCC mode the decoder determines the number of speed steps and you may select any of 9999 addresses. The individually programmable speed curve allows precise adjustment to match a particular model. Our truly universal function mapping allows all function outputs to be assigned to any of 12 function buttons in any combination. Supports lighting effects like Mars Light, Ditch Lights, Gyra Light, Strobe Light and many more. The brightness of lighting is individually adjustable. Unique Dynamic Drive Control (DDC) feature where the Back EMF is active at low speeds for smooth slow running operation with reduced influence at high speeds. Fitted with overload protection for the motor output as well as the four function outputs, the decoder is extremely robust. It is suitable for DC, coreless and universal motors converted with Hamo magnets. The 40kHz high frequency motor control assures smooth and silent running.  The motor output handles a maximum current of 1.1A while the function outputs are designed for 0.3A each.
