Locomotive frame replaced with a Digi-Frames Kit unit.  Motor isolated and connected to a Lenz LE-0521W decoder.  Connected the standard head light and a new function light over the cab with a resistor to the decoder.  Isolated the function light from the number boards and cab interior.  Wire management with Kapton tape.

The locomotive motor was modified for isolation and wired to the tender with a mini-plug.  Also, wired the locomotive power pickup and headlight to tender with a mini-plug.  Speaker mounted in coal bin with the tender body used as the enclosure. Fabricated and installed a circuit board for the speaker capacitor and resistors in the light circuits.  Installed a Soundtraxx DSD -090LC decoder with mini-plugs to mate with the locomotive.  Decoder power pickup from locomotive and tender for improved performance. Runs and sounds great!

Motor was isolated and connected to a Lenz LE-0511W decoder using the modified existing circuit board.  Connected the standard head light and rear light in the cab with resistors to the decoder. Wire management with Kapton tape.

Lenz Gold Mini custom mounted over drive shaft without any locomotive modifications.  Motor was isolated for decoder connection.  Front and rear lights connected with dropping resistors.

Lenz Gold Mini installed in the locomotive to control the motor and head light.  A Soundtraxx DSD-90 installed in the tender with speaker mounted in the coal bunker.  Power to the decoders from both the locomotive and tender for reliable running.  No wires between the locomotive and tender!

Soundtraxx Tsunami - Medium Steam decoder mounted in the tender using existing wire connections to the motor and head light with a resistor.  The oval speaker is custom mounted into the coal bunker with the tender body used as the sound enclosure.  Rear light is connected to the decoder with appropriate dropping resistor. Power to the decoder from both the locomotive and tender for reliable running.  Sounds terrific and runs as good as the prototype!

Lenz LE1014W DCC decoder was installed to control the single motor and both head lights.  A Dallee Electronics #792 GG1 sound unit was also installed with a speaker to provide the prototype sounds. The units are integrated to synchronize speed to motor sounds and for DCC function keys to control the horn and bell.

The Motor Mite TMCC Command Control unit for wireless operation was installed and connected to both motors and head light.  Antenna is attached to the inside top of the plastic body.
